JOY

JOY – going beyond happiness

We are taking the leap of energy that our month of practicing in the state of Love brings us and diving into JOY!  Like the state of Love, the state of JOY is not dependent on conditions or events, it is an omnipresent way of being. As our state of Love becomes increasingly unconditional, we come to discover inner Joy.

While happiness is the uplifting feeling in response to a situation or event, Joy is a deeper nonwavering energy that is grounded in peace and contentment. Where happiness can waver with the tides of circumstance, Joy abides—a radiant undercurrent that persists through both triumph and trial. To live in Joy is to tune oneself to the quiet, ever-present melody beneath the noise of daily life. It is an invitation to notice beauty in the ordinary, feel gratitude in the midst of uncertainty, and allow our spirits to lift even when the world seems heavy.

Joy calibrates at 540 which is also the state of healing and spiritual self-help groups.  This level (and upward) holds the domains for saints, healers and advanced spiritual students.  Joy is characterized by enormous patience, persistence, compassion, inner peace and contentment, which can persist even in the face of prolonged adversity.  This state helps us to recognize and navigate the flow of life force energy where we effortlessly can manifest within the power of divine will.  It is full of synchronicity and what others may see as magical events.

To cultivate this deeper sense of Joy, consider the way sunlight quietly illuminates even the cloudiest day. Joy, too, can shine softly beneath layers of worry or routine, revealing itself in a gentle smile, a shared glance, or the simple act of breathing fully into the present. When we release the urge to measure our worth or our well-being against external benchmarks, we begin to sense that Joy is woven into the very fabric of our being. It is a resource always available, asking only for our willingness to notice, to pause, and to welcome its subtle arrival.

“How can I cultivate Joy?” you may ask.  Just as you have cultivated your current state of being (consciously or not), Joy can be nurtured from within by using a sense of willingness and commitment to the practice.  The following help to nourish the state of Joy from within:

·

Mindfulness and Presence:

Paying attention to the present moment, appreciating the small things, and practicing mindfulness can help increase feelings of joy.

·

Gratitude:

Keeping a gratitude journal or reflecting on positive experiences can shift focus towards the good in life and foster joy.

·

Finding Purpose and Meaning:

Discovering what gives life meaning, whether through work, hobbies, or acts of service, can contribute to a sense of joy.

·

Healthy Relationships:

Strong social connections and positive interactions with others are linked to greater joy and well-being.

·

Acts of Kindness:

Helping others and engaging in acts of kindness can create a sense of purpose and contribute to a feeling of joy.

Joy asks us not to wait for the perfect moment, but to create it from within. Through mindful presence, openheartedness, and connection to ourselves and others, we discover that Joy is not a fleeting visitor but a steadfast companion, awaiting our embrace at any moment.
